FGL600 Sheath & Hultafors Hatchet
Versatile light-weight axe for backcountry, bushcraft and campsite. This axe is hand-forged by master blacksmiths from Hults Bruk, Sweden. The steel is stuck several times, increasing its density and, thereby, the durability of the axe. Hultafors forging tradition goes as far back as 1697. The hatchet is named after Hultån, the stream where the water for the water wheels was once taken.
The shaft is made from hickory and treated with boiled linseed oil to create a barrier that repels water and prevents swelling, shrinking or cracking caused by moisture changes. The hand-stitched leather strike guard protects the shaft closest to the axe head in the event of an overstrike. The edge of the hatchet is protected by a leather sheath protected and secured by a press stud.
The hatchet is used for almost any task in the forest, but first and foremost for campsite work, such as collecting and processing firewood and building shelter. Take care of your hatchet and it will stay a faithful companion for many years to come.

The axe head is hand-forged from Swedish axe steel of the finest quality. The steel is struck many times until the axe attains its final form. This old-fashioned method increases the density of the steel and, thereby, the durability and life of the axe.

The hardening method leaves a clear hard zone within which the axe can be sharpened whilst not detracting from the strength of the edge. With proper use, this axe becomes a lifelong tool, one that you'll keep and eventually pass down through generations.
Safeguard & Sheath
Strike guard along the shaft protects against overstrike damage. The blade is safeguarded by a rugged leather sheath secured by a press stud, ensuring the edge remains sharp and ready for any task, from firewood collection to shelter building.
