Guide: Bespoke Monogram Service

Monogram Made to Endure

We design and manufacture lasting goods, knowing you depend on your gear in the field. Our signature rugged leather is a material that wears, bleeds and patinas with time. Our monogramming service is our way of personalising your leather gear.

For centuries, monograms have been marks of identity, ownership and legacy. They were used by Hudson's Bay Company trappers to mark company property, Pacific Northwest loggers to identify their gear, and, of course, old-time outdoorsmen like Theodore Roosevelt to organize his field journals. As the saying goes—what works then works now, and for a good reason. Good leather gear begs to be challenged in the great outdoors. The monogram is a way to add a touch of personal significance.

Our Monogram Process

Imagine walking into our workshop, the rich smell of leather filling the air. You’re greeted by a master leatherworker, his hands worn but steady, ready to transform leather into something uniquely yours.

Your leather piece is crisp and ready to bear your mark. Every monogram is handcrafted the good old way, using brass letters and a hot stamping machine. Each brass character has been machined and hand-grounded with precision. The monogram is carefully placed into a leveling fixture, ensuring exact placement. Once the temperature has risen to 90 degrees (194 fahrenheit for imperial folks), then and only then, with unwavering focus, we emboss your monogram into the leather.

Our Monogram Guide

Monogramming is a delicate balance between pressure and precision. This is a process where quality takes no shortcuts. Follow our guide for a monogram that will carry your legacy:

  1. Pick your Monogram: Select up to four letters, numbers or their combination
  2. Choose Monogram Layout: You may choose C.J.M. or CJM, if you are Christopher Johnson McCandless
  3. Understand Monogram Position: Explore our product annotation

- All monograms are handcrafted in our factory
- Letters are capital in timeless Futura typeface
- For special requests, send us a email
- Choose wisely; monogram goods cannot be returned
- Add your monogram directly on product page

    Our Monogram Best-sellers

FGL402 Solid Belt: Well-made leather belt is your legacy, passed from father to son, better yet with a monogram. Reinforced hand-stitch construction with beeswax-coated linen thread allows for thicker, unfailing stitches that a machine can’t replicate.

G100 Workhorse Gloves: These are your leather gloves that have seen it all. They are your tried-and-true companion when heading afield. They will protect your hands as you build your cabin in the woods, hunt for game and explore the backcountry. They better carry your monogram.

LP120 Field Journal: Denote ownership of your journal. There is a profound bond between the journal and its keeper, which deepens and strengthens with each journey, sketch and captured memory. This is an item you’ll be holding onto for life.
