CONSIDERATION

At first, the denim will feel extremely sturdy, which is characteristic of dry denim. But after two weeks of wearing, the denim will start to break in, developing incredible character along the way. This will make this pair of jeans something you'll hold onto for life.

Our denim has been sanforized, which is a treatment to prevent shrinking after washing. You can expect very little to none shrinkage. We recommend 6-months of everyday wear before the first wash, if not longer. This way, you will end up with a beautiful pair of worn-in jeans. It sure is a long time; however, it's only a recommendation.

Create your denim story

Taking these from raw to worn will be well worth the time. The interplay between the jeans and their bearer eventually reveals the denim character, creating a truly unique version of the jeans.

Pinnacle of Japanese selvage denim

Our denim is woven on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms, resulting in a tightly woven fabric with a clean, self-finished edge. This process requires a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, resulting in long-lasting material that is utterly beautiful.

Original deep indigo blue

Dry selvedge has a deep indigo warp, unbleached, vintage-inspired ecru weft, tight construction and a starchy crispness. The warp is first dyed in a dark sulfur dye and subsequently in indigo. This dyeing technique gives it a deep and muted indigo blue.

Regenerative organic cotton

Organic farming supports biodiversity, improves soil quality and uses less water. We source our raw cotton directly from smallholder farms in the Fergana Valley.
